Pro Sound Effects have just released their latest sound effects library ‘Chicago Ambisonics‘, featuring over 3 hours of immersive urban ambiences. The library also includes the software that allows users to control the positioning and polar patterns of ‘virtual microphones’ for greater control and creativity. This is the second Ambisonics library to be released by Pro Sound Effects, following last years ‘NYC Ambisonics‘ which was dubbed as “the future of sound effects libraries” by the press attending NAB 2015.

Chicago Ambisonics offers unparalleled flexibility and realism when mixing backgrounds for a project. The B-Format files give users the ability to tweak perspective of the city ambiences with software in real time to specifically match the setting of a scene.” – David Forshee, Pro Sound Effects Library Specialist

The library was produced and recorded in 24-bit/96kHz broadcast wav files, and features ambiences recorded from all over Chicago such as The Magnificent Mile, Chinatown, Kennedy Expressway, O’Hare International Airport, and many more. The ambisonic format allows for decoding to mono, stereo, 5.1, 7.1, and beyond, and is perfect for VR audio and 360 video applications.

Pro Sound Effects are currently offering this new library at the introductory pricing of $49 until August 31st.
