Video Games Live (VGL) takes the gaming experience light years beyond with a “captivating, proudly bombastic show” (The New York Times) that combines video game music masterfully performed by a live orchestra and choir with the explosive energy of a rock concert. Created by industry legend, composer Tommy Tallarico in 2002, it is the first and most successful video game touring concert in the world having performed over 250 shows in 25 countries on 5 continents.
Marking their anticipated return to London this year, having last wowed audiences at the Royal Festival Hall in 2008, VGL return to the capital bringing a brand new ‘Bonus Round’ show. The show will feature a whole new arrangement of visuals and music from one of the most respected and acknowledged Hungarian ensembles- The Hungarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. Joining them in London for a very special show will be Grammy nominated video game composer Austin Wintory, who will be guest conducting music from Sony’s fastest-selling PlayStation title Journey.
VGL are also pleased to announce that British composer Richard Jacques will be playing an exclusive world premiereof his award winning music from the James Bond 007: Blood Stone video game. Richards dynamic and in demand composing style has seen him score major titles as well as original music for film, Hollywood movie trailers and other visual media. Excited to confirm London based recording artist Rebecca Jane to the tour, the British songstress has performed prolific shows in prestigious concert halls around the world. Accumulating over 10 million hits on YouTube, she has appeared with artists such as Alfie Boe on tour and world class composers André Rieu and Kentaro Haneda.
